I am so sorry you lost a friend to that unforgiving situation turned massacre in Las Vegas. Can you believe there have been over 200 of these mass killings this year. Lord have mercy.
I read your poem and it does say a lot but for me the last line just does not seem right.....have you ever heard of a dangling modifier? Well, this is NOT that but it seems out of order.....Could it perhaps....Would it perhaps sound better as
Dad and a motherless child cry every night.....maybe it is just me.....Please take my comment with a grain of salt....and I meant no ill will.
My main reason for being here at this moment is that I personally wanted to thank you for selecting my painting to accommodate your writing. How fitting in deed. I am truly honored you chose mine.

You're absolutely right about the grammatical aspect of this piece. But I was writing with my heart and not my mind at that moment. Thank you for the honest comments and the artwork.

A very well-written heartfelt and sad poem. When we know someone who became a victim of such a senseless killing spree, it makes it more personal and more reason to condemn such actions.
