Nice entry to this contest, Craig.

Not much I can say on it... but I'll give it a shot. The reader gets the sense of an imprisoned man, in the clutches of the law, and the law feels confident that Harry will cooperate, or be in misery. The hints are there... him being in solitude, his name... and then the reveal at the end, a disappearing act by a well known name.

Leaves me with a sense of egg on the face of the detective holding him. Whoever thought it a good idea he should be in solitary made a big mistake.

Fun, simple, effective.

Your comments are always most gratefully received, Turtle. There's not a lot of room for plot development, or anything really, in 50 words, is there? But still, I think these ultra-short things give an opportunity to practice some aspects of our writing. Many thanks, Craig

A very well-written dribble flash fiction. Houdini would not let anybody keep him in confinement. He will find a way to escape from any dilemma before anyone notice.

Ha, yep a good bit of misdirection and especially with the artwork. The door does look something like a straightjacket.

Good chuckle here, Craig, so thank you. I wish you all the best in the contest.

Hi Craig!

Apparently they didn't get Olsen Harry locked up good enough. It looks like you have the length of this piece just right and I didn't see any SPAG.

Good luck in the contest!

Kim

LOL! I was not ready for that ending. Very good. Harry Houdini... who could have guessed that was the prisoner's full name until he escaped and, hearing his name, we are not surprised. Just surprised to find WHO he really was.

Haha ... No one can keep Houdini in chains or locked up for long. He can get out of anything and everything. :) This was a creative entry for the Flash Dribble contest, Craig. I enjoyed it! In a mere 50 words your story spoke volumes. Good luck in the contest. ~~ Connie

LOL this is perfect for the dribble contest entry. I love the twist at the end and it is so true telling of his fantastic abilities of being there one minute and gone the next
