I like the lovely details about the gift from your father. It is sentimental, shows an overlooked mistake which says much about the relationship between you. It seems quite honest and true to form. I enjoyed reading it.

A very well-written poem about an object you keep close to your heart. It was a gift from a loving father's heart there us nothing more precious than that. Congratulations for winning the contest.

Yes, I can see why you have cherished this gift from your loving father from the moment you received it until now. He just knew you would like it, so he stretched enough to be able to bring it to you. His love you felt then will always be with you, and matters far more than the object itself, though it is good you still have it to look at and fondly reminisce about. Superbly written, heartwarming, and aptly illustrated.

    Thank you for such a kind review, I appreciate it more than you know. I still miss my dad even all these years later...he was special.

    You are most welcome. Congratulations on winning the contest.

    As the non-wealthy father of girls, I understand your dad's viewpoint. He would be pleased to know how often you lovingly think of him. He will never be truly gone until no one is left to remember him, so be sure to pass your story on to younger family members. Your readers here will now remember you both for that heartwarming post. I know will. -- Mike

Awwww, that is so sweet, anonymous poet.

What a precious item to write about, and so very close to your heart. You have kept it all these years, and have shared it now with us. Thank you for immortalizing the gift for all of us.

Good luck in the contest.

Take care,
Rhonda

Very nice little story of remembrance of a precious yet simple gift given by one so loved. Spelling be damned. It's the thought that counts. A small chip and some tarnish does not take away from the thought. Well done.

    Maybe put it on a chain and use it for a necklace. It is something you love.... be proud of it.

Dear Anonymous Poet;
I think the gifts we have put away in our memory boxes are probably the ones we will never forget. I imagine having something your Dad had bought just for you would be great. I'm so glad you have this memory and you shared it with us. Good luck in the contest,

~patty~

    Thank you for such a nice review. Besides having my bracelet from my dad, I also got married with my moms wedding ring, which came all the way from England. It keeps me close to both if them.

This poem is a lovely tribute to the man who gave you that bracelet. You describe it clearly in the poem (but the picture helps a lot, too). I also like how you interspersed the rhyme.
