This meets the prompt head-on, and has a bit of ballad beat about it, plus very good imagery. Looks like an excellent entry for a "Love" contest.

If I were anyone but Scrooge,
I'd tell you how I love this verse;
I'd paint my face with cheery rouge
'til I looked like I drove a hearse (or worse) - lol.
Alas, the Yuletide beckons all
to phony, pseudo-gaiety!
Bah, humbug, it's no longer Fall!
So love me not; love Deity.
Okay, so this verse really sucks,
but say you like it anyway.
I'll call you Honey, Lovey-ducks,
Hey - maybe even Hemingway. :))))))))
(I loved this! So sweetly evocative. Merry Christmas!)

Hello RodG
I like your poem for as you say
a love poem for the young and young at heart
what about two elderly folks who have been married for sixty three year why can't we also feel
No drizzling mist, no rain-drenched day,
just azure sky and Mister Sol
as arm-in-arm we'd amble on

This is such a lovely romance poem, presented well. Tranquil artwork to match your descriptive piece. All poem is great, but I especially like stanzas two and three. Good luck in the contest. Marilyn

How lovely and loving writer or character loved this woman in the summer and fall. Seems he is taking trip down memory lane and painting picture of his adventures with this beloved woman. NICELY WRITTEN. truly liberty justice

You've painted with words such lovely images of love in the fall! The poem appeals to all the senses - from the sound of rustling leaves to the feel of cashmere. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Should do well in the contest.

You chose a beautiful picture (enough to make any one feel romantic). and you rhymed your poem well.
