Good morning again, Jen: I laughed when I saw this post because as writers maybe we all should address this issue. Everyone knows that they are responsible for their dog's poops but I cannot understand why we are still playing hopscotch around dog poop. It is still being left on the sidewalks by the careless an irresponsible. Yeah, this is truly an issue. Thank you for sharing this one too. Much love, my friend.

Wonderfully creative and funny. I have dogs and I understand. I see your syllable count is correct, so, hey, I'm just putting characters on the page now. You have my vote.

A hard job to make a 1-6-1 serious and pack a punch. Liked the theme, light and humorous. I liked it, so I voted for it. Good luck in the booth! Good title too!

Thank you so much.

Cute stuff. Simple but effective message. Very nice rhymes. I don't think you really need the period at the end. Otherwise, you'd have to put a period at the end of line two in order to justify capitalizing the final line. If the choice is between adding a period or losing a period, I choose the latter.

Thank you for your reminder--I walk in a city park, where dog walkers sometimes forget to pick up after the critters. I liked your clever rhymes and reinforcing picture. Best wishes in the 1-6-1 poem contest- Joan

This meets the contest requirements nicely with a correct line / syllable count and rhyme scheme. The content is a witty public service reminder for dog owners everywhere. All the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Hi there Anonymous Poet;
Thank you for sharing your one-six-one about a subject few people want to talk about. Frankly, I hate it when people don't pick up after their dogs -- why do they want to subject other people to that?

That's something they don't do in my neighbourhood! But always when we take my daughters dog for a walk we are well prepared with bags, let your poem be put on the lamp posts in my street and in all towns, a wise write, love Dolly x

Very true. I don't enjoy the orange and had to wear my sunglasses here.
Hah. I like the three lines and love to go out with a dog but don't enjoy the stooping and feel like a cretin when I have to clean up after my dog.
Thanks.
