Wow this is a bit morbid and sad. You have put quite a bit of information in here describing an informing men what not to do. This poor woman was pushed to the breaking point by so much neglect and abuse. You have done a superb job in bringing out your points. Very well done.

This is a fun write about a serious murder! He he he a great write Diane, I know that movie and have watched it a couple of times. In Victorian Britain arsenic was used to murder wives and husbands because it didn't leave any trace and doctors would diagnose a stomach bug or one of the many other diseases that killed people then. But arsenic does leave a trace in the hair and nails for years to come and they exhumed many bodies in an attempt to convict and the problem became so big that they passed laws about obtaining arsenic over the counter in a bid to stamp out these murders! Anyway back to your poem, which has a comedy sentiment, a great work! Loved it, love Dolly x

When I was newly married, a woman living in a small town northwest of us, poisoned her employers with arsenic. She still is incarcerated, I believe. And last year my daughter and I viewed a PBS production of a British woman living in the 1800s who murdered a number of her husbands with arsenic in order to better her lot in life! I believe she even murdered, or attempted to murder her own children figuring they were "bringing her down."
As for my sad wife, well, I know I must have been thinking of Arsenic and Old Lace - but then the story became all twisted - in the early hours of more than a few morning, and it just took off! It was a fun one to pen, nonetheless!

LOL, I enjoyed this because I can see that poor woman after years of abuse. I can relate too. I was in an abusive relationship years ago and there were definitely thoughts like this but fortunately I found my love. I found no "glitches" in it.

This is a great spinoff of the Arsenic and Old Lace. It also reminded me of a movie with Elizabeth Montgomery called "The Black Widow". You did a wonderful job with the rhyming and the sequencing was perfect. Well done.
