This first made me smile because I thought it was just a woman nagging about her husband. Then I continued to read on and suddenly it reminded me of a 20/20 or Dateline or something about a woman who poisoned her husband and family with some chemical that you put into the car. She put it in their coke and you apparently don't taste it. When you die from it it looks and comes across as the flu if you don't know what you're looking for. After like the third person in her family that went in they finally started doing more research into it. Who would have thought? It's crazy how one thing we watch or participate in like a play in high school can make such a great poem.

Hello!
Throughout history, unfortunately, men and women have employed arsenic to rid themselves of individuals they no longer considered worthy of their time or love. Pretty frightening when I researched it. But this was a fun one to pen, nonetheless.

What a great poem, you kept me entertained the whole way through. I don't know that I am supposed to "enjoy" murder, but I liked what you wrote, and I was definitely rooting for your protagonist, and I am glad she got out of her abusive relationship. Great job.

This is excellent. Old Bob gets what he had coming. There is only so much a person can take, before they decide enough is enough. No jury of her PEERS would ever convict her. She actually did the world a service by ridding it of this lout.

Didn't see this coming. I am honored and humbled by your exceptional review. I remember thinking about "Arsenic and Old Lace," but I woke up one morning thinking of the first two stanzas. I couldn't get them out of my mind. One thing led to another, and then this "tragic tale" took on a life of its own...I have another one brewing as well...You'll like it: takes places in Salinas, CA...John Steinbeck country!
