All poetry should rhyme in my opinion, I am not a fan of free verse. This was a fine example of rhyming poetry which I really enjoyed reading.
Its recognised as well it should be.....great job well done.

Ha, cute poem and hilarious ending, ya what are you doing there Dad? Where is the tooth fairy.

Great metre and rhyme making this a perfect entry into the contest. Best wishes to you. :)

LOL! This is just so cute! Of course, Dad IS the tooth fairy but how could the little girl know? Love how you built the anticipation and how she waited with a flashlight. Really well done!

A delightful write with lovely verses that should resonate with many readers; some kids are too smart for their parents to be fooled; thanks for sharing and good luck!

Hi DD,
I love this poem, Dad tries so hard to give his little girl the thrill of childhood but gets caught in the act.
Great rhyming and story line. Nice flow of words.
Just like getting caught trying to be Santa Claus. LOL

As this was sweet but always very sad. It also reminded me of when my tooth fell out during the night and the fairy didn't come. I spent hours cleaning the fang the day after to ensure that she would visit

hugs

Freda, this is a late response but thank you for popping in to review my short poem. As always, I am very grateful. I still have some of my baby teeth in a draw somewhere. My parents did not introduce me to the tooth Fairy :-( but my youngest daughter was beautiful with it. She wrote such loving letter to say thank you. :-) ~DD

You can't fake out the child like that. You need to make sure that she's asleep first.. This is very cute and was fun to read. I enjoyed this. Well done.

A very well-written rhyming poem. The tooth fairy never comes while we are awake. Even Dad gets worried about the fairy that seems not to show her face yet to pick up the tooth.

Gert, this is a late response but thank you so much for popping in to review my short Tooth Fairy poem. As always, I am very grateful. I still have some of my baby teeth in a draw somewhere and have kept my children?s baby teeth. Their beautiful notes of thanks to the Fairy are very precious and their teeth seemed too personal to just flush down the toilet or throw in the bin. I?ll leave it up to them when they are older. ~DD
