A very well-written acrostic poem with the word cudeigh which mean a gift to somebody that serves as a bribe for something we have to pay a high price for getting it in a normal way.

Hey, Craig...

Read through this poem too... A couple times, as I like the theme and message, though my mind keeps refusing to provide sensible feedback.

The first time through, I wasn't sure about monorhyming, but the second time through I couldn't remember why I was worried about monorhymes as they felt appropriate considering the way that power, religion, and control all seem to repeat over and again when you look at it.

Religion to overthrow the oppressor, granting might to the meek via something the oppressor can't reach, the opportunist to arm themselves with religion to control the strength of the meek massed as one.

Thanks, Turtle, for the thoughtful review. I don't intend to use monorhyme a lot, as I'm not a big fan either. What happened here was, I found that as I'd tried to write it, a lot of the lines came out with the same rhyme sound without me trying. then the couple that were different seemed "odd", so I decided to use it the whole way lol

Hi Craig,

It's interesting how my first thought after reading your word for the day. I thought of President Kennedy and how he always spoke of God in his speeches. I think Reagan did that a lot too. It would be interesting to watch the White House as each President comes and goes. I wonder if they decorate the White House with their own faith beliefs in mind. I'm not American so I couldn't care less. Canadians seem to look at them for entertainment value in a respectful way. I can see the world changing as many different cultures migrate here and we learn how to live with each other in harmony.

Joy xx

Now that you mention it, I don't think either Obama or Trump probably have thrown the name of the Almighty in there enough to please some of the populace. Thanks for the fine review, Joy.

Thank you, Teri, for the lovely review. I'm happy to share, and learn new words as I go. Some people have remarked from time to time they knew a word - I don't think that's happened to me yet lol

A clever acrostic here and that word is unusual and I'm not sure I will remember it, but it is rather inventive and your acrostic displays it perfectly, love Dolly x

I am guessing that you have entered a different poem into the acrostic poem contest. Yes, the tax scam is an attempt to buy votes. Proposing steel and aluminum steel tariffs while a special election affecting steel workers is taking place. That was an attempt to buy votes. The Koch brothers buy votes. Russian bots and hackers were hired to influence votes. That cost money. Lots of votes were bought that way, more than any other way. NRA had stranglehold on republican and some democratic politicians. Thank these great high school kids who have already effected change. So much corruption among the wealthy. Thank you fir sharing

I don't think I've done an entry for the acrostic contest. I have been missing a lot of contests with this project. But I see there's still time. Thanks for the thoughtful review - Craig

This speaks man has to attain power not by seeking but by achieving, those who cannot may wish to get bribing but it is not feasible, simply obedience is not enough; well written, well done. B A CHANGE INSPIRER-WRITER -- DR ALCREATOR

I like the premise for your book of poetry, and the title is very good. This looks hard to write. I think the word is interesting and I had never heard of it before. I noticed no errors, thanks for sharing your poem, from out in the middle of nowhere it says in your bio. Have a good evening, Ana.

The collection plate and, in former days, the tithe, are easy ways to absolve a guilty conscience, whilst lining the pockets of the Church. Religion itself is, as your poem suggests, a form of bribery. Follow the sacred routines and you'll be saved. A somewhat weak premise!

Believe it or not, tithing is still a common practice in some denominations. Personally, I can think of better things to do with my hard earned cash. Many thanks, Tony.

Another fun and interesting word.
I often wonder why we need words meaning the same as other words.
We have bribe. We can bribe, or take a bride. Now we can also cudeigh.
Thanks for sharing this.

Yes, life would be much simpler if we only had one word to describe every thing, that's for sure! Many thanks for the kind review - Craig
