This is truly beautiful--and quite the ode to spring. I could feel the passion in your words of the second stanza. The third was as it should be--powerful, with you inside of it. Your feelings are well expressed in this amazing poem.

I really love spring, it's so short in Southern California - so I always go kind of nuts with poetry when it comes around :))

I like the beautiful imagery of this poem. It flows well and has a good ending. It leaves the reader with a peaceful serene feeling. It celebrates oneness with the universe.

There's one thing better than a cinquain...a suite of them. And such talent as yours Carol, is revealed in these delicately crafted "verses", giving a celebration of Spring, well done, blessings, Roy

Each Cinquain is beautifully composed with lovely theme and nice alliteration; my favorite is the last one; thanks for sharing.

Huh. A cinquain chain. Or a suite of the things. Just spent two hours mowing grass and another two fixing a flat tire on the lawnmower. And with every pass I was strafing everything with sweetgum seedballs. Yep, the season is unfurled and flapping here in the woods on this hill. Would not have it any other way. Excellent post. The crows cussed me all the time I was working...

I heard that it's getting hot in the South already - and it is here as well. Spring is indeed an amazing season, with all the new growth. Tell those crows to pipe down! Lol,

There are clear images of nature in your words. There is also a feeling of being out in nature and experiencing the fresh air and the presence of the trees. I like the line "soul bursting music of throated thrush recalls the dawn of day'.

That thrush in the poem was a remembrance of being on a remote ridge, looking way down at the ocean when I heard the most incredible, lovely sound echoing in the woods...I do love nature :)

I don't know about you but I am ready for spring to stay. One day cool, the next hot. Grass not sure what to do. Birds are happy though. Thanks for sharing.

It's already hot here, but I suppose we will have some cooler days too. I'm not a fan of the heat, I love foggy mornings and cool afternoons :)

Spring is on the wane? Where are you? We have not even seen a hint of spring. Love the picture you chose to grace your linked Cinquains. Well written. Nancy

I'm in Southern California. We have about 3 weeks when the hillsides are fresh and green, but the grass cures so fast around here. Summer is just around the corner (too hot!)

I thoroughly enjoyed your linked cinquains and salute to spring. Your vivid imagery and transforming to a tree, along with the alliteration of "s's" are wonderful. Big cheers- Joan

Thank you so much, Joan. I do love the spring here, although there's always a sense of it being only temporary...I was remembering a favorite meadow that I visited about a week ago. So peaceful and with nice, big oaks :))

It's easy not to feel a sense of belonging in this rather confusing world. There are plenty of reasons to want to distance ourselves from it. Yet ultimately, we are a tiny speck in the scheme of things, but a speck nevertheless. It's easier to recognise this when we concentrate on the good in our surroundings, and the beauty of the natural world.

These are the thoughts that went through my head contemplating your fine poem. Very nice job, Carol. Glad you are still enjoying the near end of your spring, our autumn has been something of a disappointment. Cheers, Craig

I enjoy the feeling of being a tiny speck in the whole, big universe - of the natural world. Dislike the feeling when in a busy city though. Sorry your autumn has not been great, is it hot and dry still? Our fall is like that too - unbearably hot, dry and windy a lot of the time.

Yes, worst in a long time. Our paddocks are dirt. Rumour has it that one day it will rain again, I'm reserving judgement.
