When I saw the explanatory line I expected these to linked by a word or syllable, but your linking by theme is more subtle in this sequence of of springtime cinquains. I love the oxymoron in the penultimate line that makes for a strong finish.

Well, yes, they are linked by idea, not by a word or syllable. But I like the idea of repeating a word or phrase from one to the next. Anupam (The Death) has done a poem that uses repeating phrases that is very good.

Apart from Azure, dear Ciliverde, if only for the fact an often over-used wordt, I really liked this short piece. Beautifully serene and giving. At one with its theme, at one with harmony.
Beautiful.
My best wishes.
RG

Azure, yes I can see what you mean. Another word for blue with two syllables, hmmm...

Thanks for the review and comments, and all the stars too :)

Turquoise is beautiful...gets away from the stigma...even 'cyan' , but I guess most would recognize turquoise

Beautiful painting that really complimented the poems. The poems each has lots and lots of imagery and the reader really enjoyed the read.

this is a great example cinquain poetry and what can be done with it in the proper hands. I like the form and linking them, one stanza always seems to leave so much unsaid........meeshu

It's hard to say all there is to say in just one cinquain...I have noticed that myself, lol. Thank you for the comments :))

These are very beautiful linked cinquain poems you have penned. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery with the art work. I enjoyed reading and reviewing them. Blessings, Teri

What a joy to read. Such great descriptive words and it flowed so effortlessly! My favorite stanza: Azure light in limpid sky; soul-bursting music of throated thrush recalls the dawn of day.

Thank you so much, someone said azure was an overused word, I might try to think of a different one. I appreciate your review :))

I liked the last stanza very much, which is not to day that the rest of your poem wasn't excellent as well. It was. The last lines remind us that we should recognize that we are just a small part of the larger picture and should behave accordingly.

All things
are one, I know,
and so I am content -
a tiny piece of vastness in
this light.

Yes! We are a small part of the whole picture - we don't understand it all and don't need to - but we can still marvel at it :))

Hello Carol,
This is truly an exceptional series of cinquains
some read like splendid haiku with great satori lines.
The imagery is always what I look for first
and no one does it better.
A tiny piece with a large heart and talent to match.
Spring in the meadow, in the air and all down the page
Beautifully done, love the art work, too
Robert
