More than I can see... and less. Meant to confuse, the critter is master of disguise, fitting in anywhere it goes, hiding in plain sight. Wish I could do that. :)

The secret of this piece lies not only in the words but the clever use of alternating colours. This is what chameleons do when they are frightened. They flash from one colour to another. Octopi do the same. The chameleon I remember from several decades ago was tipped out of his quarters one day and flashed from his golden brown to a grey green of the settee he landed on. Then as he ran for cover, he went pink and grey and mauve. Poor little fella. This is a cute little poem about the change ability of the chameleon. Now you see me now you don't. Peek-a-boo
cheers Cass

Then we must all be chameleons because no one can fully know the complex inner selves that each person hides soul-deep. Also, it's a good message to not pigeon-hole anyone.

There is always more to something than what meets the eye. You have a very colorful poem, just like the chameleons in the picture. Excellent use of rhyme. Transmogrify has such a nice sound to it. It sounds like this guy is wanting a bit of respect for his complexity. He feels misunderstood. judi

Indeed, I am more than you can see. The epitome of achameleon. You never know which colour it's taken on next. A frightening thought indeed. I liked the poem a lot. All the best. Ulla:))

We are like them when we want to be. It's so easy to be what another wants us to be, or what we want them to think we are. Chameleons aren't the only ones that can deceive. :)) Well done, Bill. :) Sandra xxx

A cleverly rhymed poem from the point of view of a chameleon poet. He'd (or she'd) also make a good private dick, easily performing his foremost skill, unobserved at close range, at fornicators' favored spots, such as secluded lovers lanes.

Have a go at that one, on me, Bill.

Foolish is the man who looks only with the naked eye and thinks that he has seen the entire picture. The one looking with both the eye and the heart sees much more that is easily visible. Bill, you sometimes surprise me when you drop these insightful bombs on me from out of the blue. I never knew that you were a Stealth Bomber.

I have a feeling that the chameleon is only one colour? He is never rainbow coloured, but he cannot, as you say, be pigeonholed! He will blend into his habitat nicely thank you! Love Dolly x
