I like it. The only thing missing were the bugs and a canoe:) great imagery and movement. I'll take the lake over the beach any day. A well written poem.

I smiled when I read your comment about the bugs and a canoe. Not too many bugs where we live, and most canoes have been replaced by kayaks!

This form . Is soothing and with built in alliteration takes on a cohesive feel regardless of the theme. Of course a lakeside retreat? Heavenly in any form!

I wanted to give you a heads up review. The contest announcement says, "The poem itself has seven lines. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title."
I am seeing more than seven lines, and the first word in each line does not begin with the same letter that begins the one-word title.
Perhaps you still have time to fix it.
This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

There are indeed, only seven lines to my Pleiades. Each line begins with the letter, L:
Linger,
Laughter,
Legendary
Loons
Lake
Life-renewing
Lakeside
I hope that at least the images I created resonated with you. Of the eleven reviews my poem has received as of this moment, no other reviewer has made mention of my not following the requirements for a Pleiades.

I had never heard of Pleiades style poems. What a fun poetry style! A bit of alliteration with a twist! You did such a great job with your storytelling about the activities at the lake. The descriptives and imagery are in every line! A good entry for the contest. Good luck!
