SSSSSStupendous x 15--I couldn't wait to congratulate you--I confess that I cannot say anything remotely intelligent at 1:30 AM--so I'll simply say that this is a masterpiece that bears rerererererererereeading. Cheerssssss. LIZ

Many thanks for your enthusiastic six-star review, Liz. I wrote this two or three years ago. I don't think I'll be trying another one! It was published as a chapbook in 2018 by a small local publishing house.

This is a poem and it is a story. I enjoy reading the poem, each paragraph tells a new part of a story and at the same time shares the feeling of the characters in the story.

It is a great way to write both a demand a story.

Happy writing.

It took me a while to go through your masterpiece Tony. I keep shaking my head at how much time and talent that it must take to create such a wonderful wreath.

Thanks, Don. It did take quite a bit of time to get the sequence working together as a whole. I wrote this a couple of years ago and vowed I'd never write another one! All good wishes, Tony

An epic tale worthy of remembrance. I'm a simpler kind of poet, so the deeper meanings in this piece eluded me at times, but it was a wonderful journey to get lost on. Thanks for sharing. :)

Awesome, as always. I know this sounds crazy, but this came to me while driving yesterday:
It was deemed by the poetry caucus
that a gent by the name of Fawcus
in a wee bit of time
can make up a rhyme
for a poem that really will rock us!

Love your limerick! It certainly took me more than 'a wee bit of time' to put this one together! My first and last attempt at the form. As far as I know, no-one's been fool enough to try it since France Preseren in 1833.

Quite a complex offering for the contest with lots of myths and symbols, and intricate ups and downs until the end when the balance is restored: "Ephemeral as life's brief, carefree spring
Careening through the air in heady climb,
Haphazard, daring flights that man can take
On fragile wings of hope, meandering,
Erratic, as we search for heights sublime;
So close at hand, if only we would wake." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

This is an old one, Iza. I wrote it in 2018. It didn't do any good in the contest, but a local publisher took it up and published it in chapbook format. Thanks for dropping by to review it. All good wishes, Tony

Good beginning, simple and to the point yet quite deep. Very good second stanza. A pretty good third and fourth stanza. The same with fifth and sixth stanza. I think this is quite great

Tony, what a lot of work! And then to do so without ever losing momentum. It's an interesting and artistically painted message. Very beautiful! Also loved the glossary at the end as it gave a clearer translation for a smoother read. I never knew about Ruth meaning regret. I think this is a definite winner :)

Very many thanks, Pearl, for your positive words and six stars. For every sonnet in the sequence there's probably one in the trash can! This one took quite a bit of fiddling over several days! All the best, Tony

Hi Tony
I really did enjoy reading this beautifully crafted Wreath of Sicilian Sonnets spun with an expertise that can only come from your pen. I must applaud your artful weaving of the story of the silkie in these sonnets.
Thank you for sharing.
