A very well-written poem about any cemetery where our loved ones are laid to rest after death. The whole body return to the earth. The soul lives forever and left earth at the last breath.

this is well written poem but it isn't the smoothest read. the last line of the last two stanzas could be tightened up easily enough. not a biggie..

Your poem sure met the criteria for this contest.
To me, the first verse addressed history, 'tombstones bent over and cold.' great line. The second tells of heroes and loved ones. 'flags and crosses. Satisfying our grief and losses.' While the last is so spiritual.
A great all-round poem celebrating the three stages of life, history, heroes and holiness.

Excellent! What started in a grim mood turned into living hope! "They have left their grave on the road to a secret life..." Comforting to the loved ones of those in the cemetery. Well penned.

Dear Anonymous Poet,
Thank you for sharing your entry in the Remembrance Poetry contest. Your rhyming poem tells the story of a visit to the cemetery where loved ones and fallen heroes lay.
The artwork you chose goes well with the poem, and I think this is a good entry for the contest.
