You do realize cats don't talk, Craig. And when they do it's time you went to the shrink and demand your ham.

Oh, I was looking all over for the word and then I see it, It's hidden in the acrostic. DOH. I'm not the sharpest knife in the deck sometimes. A very cute poem that all cat lovers will love.

Enjoyed. :)

What on Earth do you mean cats can't talk? The problem is, we can't understand them ;-)

    Well, sometimes we can't.

Sharpest knife in the deck? I really think you're mixing your chickens before they're hatched!

Thanks for the fun review, it made me chuckle, not to mention chortle.

    Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig. I would not even know how to pronounce your word for the day. Let alone know what it means. I have my own meow bug. That meow which is a combination of a purr and a meow is really cute. Thank you for sharing

Hi Craig, this is a cheeky acrostic from the view of a cat. I liked the idea of the cat owning the human. The best kind of therapy! I enjoyed the use of abcb rhyming and the iambic meter was well done too. Great use of the word of the day.

Thanks very much for the lovely review, Pam. I'm more a dog person myself, although I love cats too. But it's difficult to go out for a walk with one's cat - and odds are they wouldn't want to be seen in our company in public anyway :) Cheers, Craig

Lol. Therapeutic felines are the best kind. I didn't know that Mr. Joyce invented words. I only read his Portrait of the Artist. I really don't know why we humans think that cats can pronounce "m" or any other human language phonemes. Humans like to project themselves on their beloved pets, I guess. Enjoyed this one, Craig.

My cat says I spend far too much time projecting :)

Many thanks, Helen - glad you enjoyed.

I love this acrostic poem. It just speaks volumes for your association with this feline. It is amazing how therapeutic animals can be, and also so controlling.

A very well-written acrostic poem about the cat's message that comes through his meouw that is actually spelled mrkgnao and exactly what it means to serve him food.

A very odd spelling. Thanks very much, Sandra. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Craig

Being a former cat owner, I can relate one hundred percent to your well written and cat-loving words. Pets are such remedies to whatever ails us! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the lovely comments, Shirley. I, too, am a former cat owner. Dogs fit in better with us today, but I do still love our feline friends. Cheers - Craig

Oh yes, bravo! I miss my kitty so much. He used to be my therapist exactly as you describe here. The dogs are good nap companions, but they don't purr and give massages the way my kitty did. They just steal the baby toys and chew them to beyond recognition when I'm not looking and give me grief.

I love that you made this word plural to have an even amount of lines for your acrostic. I will try that next time I try an acrostic.

What an unusual word, but you nailed it.

Joy xx

Thanks very much, Joy. I love cats too, but I admit to being more of a dog person these days. As a kid, I had one dog my entire childhood, and a procession of cats. Cheers, Craig

    Hi Teri,
No, not my cat. I don't have one, unless you count the families of feral cats that are semi-permanent residents of our sheds. They don't mingle with us lol. But I do love cats, and had several as a child. Many thanks for the lovely review - Craig

I really enjoyed your poem, Craig. You are right about cats having a mind of their own. Your lines flow smoothly, the message is clear as to whom runs that house. I like the red letter starting each line to make the acrostic. Your picture is great--looks like the cat is on a throne giving you orders to 'feed me--NOW!' I love cats. Good job & thanks for sharing fun poem. Jan

Is there ever any doubt when there is a cat in the house who runs it, Jan? Actually, I like cats, but if you don't count the dozen or so feral ones that have semi-permanent residence in one of our sheds, we don't have any at the moment. Still, with one female human and two female dogs, I'm number four in the pecking order :)

Many thanks for the lovely review - Craig
