It seems that every possible animal, snake, insect was able to get to the birdseed, but the birds!! That wasn't on, was it? Lol. It took a while before you realised it would be better to stop feeding the birds. Poor things! That was so funny, and expensive. Brilliant prologue, Bill. :)) Sandra

First, congrats on winning the Flash Fiction contest with this very short story. It engaged me immediately. So glad you freed all those innocent critters. Loved the ending. Guess there is more than one way to solve a problem. Enjoyed the read. Best, RFL

Hahaha. Great piece, Bill. Thank you for the chuckle. I really think this should have done better than 3rd place but congrats on that though. A cat to top it off, lol. Excellent. Have a great day.

Thanks, Ron. I actually caught a mouse with it once. His 'friends' came along and chewed off his tail and face. Maybe I should have included that? :)

Lol. Yeah I'm sure all the little old ladies would just love to hear about that in detail. Ha

Excellent poem! Looks like this person tried everything to the animals. He used the trap to catch mouses. Instead he caught different animals. I like this poem. No grammatical errors.

Good read. Captivates the reader from start to finish. Well told in such a short piece. I found no SPAGs and can offer no suggestions for improvement. Thanks for the submission.

A friend and I were sitting on the porch watching birds at the feeder. When it ran empty, I took a bag of bird seed out and refilled it. Soon we started seeing birds drop dead all around the feeder. My wife had bought bird seed and fertilizer at the same time. Guess which I used.

Nice work, Bill. I enjoyed this short piece. Sounds like feeding everything except the birds. Word count is spot on. Good luck in the contest.

Take care,
Russell

Good read, educational, well presented, cartoon characters doing an activity feeding birds, colourful image, creative use of words, fascinating, creative way of thinking, to put cartoon in a poem.

Good Luck!
