I laughed at Charles Schultz's Peanuts when one of the kids said, "The cute girl smiled and me and said HI, and I didn't know what to do so I hit her." Fits the prompt, excellent post.

Hahaha. Children are so literal in their explanations. They're so funny. Thank you, Red.

Thank you for sharing this true, school yard story in dialog. I'm glad the teacher helped the friends make up. I enjoyed the parallel picture and colorful text as well. Best wishes in the competition- Joan

Very clever! There's an element of surprise that made me laugh out loud in those last words. It's just right in length. You have a great ear for dialogue. I'd love to see you write a series of these.

Thank you. I appreciate your support. I'll give some thought to a series. I hadn't thought of it.

This is a great response to the prompt. Your words + picture are a perfect pairing. The length is just right, too. I like the colors to indicate which person is speaking rather than quotation marks which would have added clutter. Your story told is humorous & so believable. I got a good laugh. The ending is priceless. Sounds just like a boy. Great job & best wishes to win this contest. Jan

What's even better is it's a true story, as you know. Thank you, Jan, for a great review and support.

Oh my. Well, hopefully she got the frustration out of her system. Clean, solid writing here. No spags or nits to address. I like how the writer used color to signify the speaker. This was an easy, fun write. Don't change a thing. Well done and good luck in the contest.

Ha ha! Fun little dialogue only story. Well written. I liked that you used three different colors to show who was talking rather than quotation marks--creative. The last line was a complete surprise and made me laugh. Good entry for the contest. Best of luck!

Typical answer! Kids get into all kinds of scrapes and awhile later they are best of friends. That's why they tell adults to let the kids work things out on their own.

I agree. They iron things out themselves. Parents only complicate things. Thank you.

Yes, kids! The story is short and full of action. Great lesson for kids, younger or older. Funny and amusing, every word is in its place and serves its purpose.
