Nicely written, Barbara. Good details. I got a kick about the comment at the end of the chapter about the dog. My husband used to say that I could untrain any dog in five minutes. Good luck in the contest with this worthy entry. Marilyn

I find the episode with the wild flowers and how Drew explained it to Shana so romantic. What a lovely thought to place a vase of flowers outside the door to make a woman smile first thing in the morning.

Another chapter of Shana and Drew inching back and forth towards each other. Well written and very enjoyable to the reader.

Thank you for the kind review. I wish Shana would just forget the years of Jewish indoctrination she's endured. It won't be easy for her to change.

That happens more often than people think, Barbara. Even I have my own suite at home where I sleep and bathe during "my days", all owing to my up-bringing, and to many an eye-rolling from my husband!

A great write. I became invested early on on Anderson and Shana. I wanted to know their history. It's great that I was so interested in this love affair in only one chapter. I likes the character list at the end too. It helped build the characters in a creative way. Great job!

Hello Barb
It's to bad that Anderson brother Jake call interpreted Shana and Anderson were telling each others feelings were getting very touching.
Maybe Anderson should pick more wild flowers
so Shana finally get the felling that Anderson
isn't try to buy her love with money
Well done Barb

Great job of describing Shana's feelings and Anderson trying to reassure her. Shana is still relying a lot on what her father would or wouldn't approve of. If she's independent as she wants to be, maybe she'll stop thinking about her father's wishes. Cute bit with the dog. He's being spoiled by Shana. You always have something to stir things up at the end of your posts. Now I'll be wondering what the phone call is about. judi

So Drew is an absolute gentleman. Pretty neat that Jeff feels he should wear a shirt if he's in Shana's bedroom at night. She must still be a virgin. Most unusual in today's world. Of course this is probably not in today's time. If it's the aftermath of the holocaust it must still be set in the 40's or 50's, is it? Well done, Barbara.

Shana is a very old fashioned Jewish background. Thank you.

Hi Barbara - I just dropped in, not on the site very often. I saw your posting and wanted to read. It is amazing how you drove this piece with dialog. I'm trying to do that more often in my own writing. Beautifully done as always. Regards, Bill

Still trying to pitch my own book. I just got a commitment for a reading at the County Historical Society where the book takes place.

I am so pleased they made up. Once again you leave us hanging not knowing what is going to happen next. "You need to take this one" are scary words in that house. I anxiously look forward to the next post. I didn't see any errors in this one.

Hi Barbara, This is another fine chapter and you have some great moments with wonderful imagery. I can't help it, but Drew at times comes across being a bit domineering to the point of being manipulative. I hope I'm wrong. All the best. Ulla:)))

Drew will come to terms with some reality before this novel is over.

I just love reading your writing. Reading this I could feel I was there watching this happen. I could identify with Shana, and her wanting to take care of herself, and not wanting Anderson to try and buy her love. Sometimes rich, and powerful men feel they can buy anything even the love of a beautiful woman. I like how you put at the bottom all the characters in the story so far. I think I might do that in my postings for my book I am working on. I can see how you are an accomplished novelist and how you are ranked at 7, I personally think you should be ranked at 1.
