My daughter attended BYU in Provo. This is an all to familiar theme wherever you live in the US sadly. Growing population of those who, through no fault of their own, most of them anyways, find themselves destitute and alone. You've captured the lifestyle, the loneliness, the fear, and stagnant emotion emulated by those who don't know how to react, act, or respond to such a festering situation.
Your words are clear and poignant. The stanzas are perfectly crafted with excellent pacing and format. Your content was timely and very thoughtful. I found no errors to note. Well done. Thanks for sharing. This reminded me of my own poem, Denied. Just a cause deep to my heart.

It's true, homelessness is common everywhere. I didn't spend much time in Provo but I imagine they are there too.

Well written piece about salt lake city and the homeless within the city. I can only imagine 10 times homeless compared to my city. Do you believe in helping homeless? I do it from time to time when I feel or feel like as if their hearts is pure as mine. This poem teaches us that! Thank you!

I do help them, probably not as often as I should. I also help homeless animals, we have four rescue dogs.

This was the day you discovered what few know.... that MOST street people, those not past caring and overly bitter at society, are simply disadvantaged people stuck in a rut. They don't want to be there. They just are.

One wonders how some homeless people ended that way. Sometimes, it's drugs, sometimes it's mental illness or both. We don't know their stories but they all yearn to have the dignity of being treated as another fellow human being. You depicted that well in this poem.
