Ciao unknown poet.

I gave you your second vote and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you win.

Your poem definitely stood out from the rest...you presented a very touching scenario.

The pic reminded me of Cio Cio San (Madame Butterfly)..When she sings "Un Bel Di' " : she imagines (after three long years)her beloved Pinkerton's return ..she sees him walking towards their house calling out her (secret) name ( Fragance of Verbena) but she hides to tease him a bit before revealing herself.

Pinkerton calling Cio Cio San is the nigthingale singing /calling for his (new) companion .

I don't know if this was your meaning but that's what reading you poem meant to me. Very romantic, touching poem.

This was exactly where I was going with this short poem on the nightingale! I didn't want to write about the Nightingale and the Emperor - which was what everyone else seemed to be highlighting in their poems. So, Madame Butterfly it was - for me. Thank you for taking the time to share your insightful thoughts. And - for the generous rating!

She waits for another love notes? From the nightingale's beautiful song, in the moonlit garden, what is floating romantic love song; very subtle in expression; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR
