When I read this news story about an artist's work auto-shredding, I wondered why. I considered that it might a comment about the ephemeral nature of art or the inability to contain or truly own art. Your explanation is very interesting and plausible. Regardless, this is a very well written poem and obviously very thought-provoking.

I have heard about this story. A beautiful painting by Banksy, shredded the moment it was sold at auction. It perplexed me, to destroy art seems a waste. But I like this theory, by destroying the painting he is actually sending a powerful message of lost innocence. Maybe that's it! Personally I think it was just a spectacle but then I have trouble seeing the deeper meaning in things sometimes. This is very well written and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing!

Hello author
I see that each of your sedoka poems have the same subject with different perspectives.
Your first sedoka I understand about the child's innocence the second sedoka, I don't know what the gavel of the auctioneer means?

A very well-written Sedoka. Children love balloons and can play with it for hours. When they are popped by accident it feels for the child that he/she lost a friend for life.

I was following your meaning up until the auctioneer's gavel. I understand the syllable count and can't rhyme, so you wrote a Sedoka. I just don't understand the last line. Good luck in the contest.

Innocence changes with the passage of time in a girl, within the steps of age, and gives a shape of a bright joyous balloon heart with love and it never turns worthless at one's remark only; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

Ha, a most subtle message of selling one's innocence for lies, author. Floating lies seems to be in vogue these days, and of the course the auctioneer's gavel can also be a judge's gavel.

Super sedoka and I wish you much luck in the booths. :)

This is a very well written Sedoka poem you have penned for the writing prompt. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work. Blessings, Teri

Hello Mystery Writer,
All for a moment of ...what? Brilliance? Deviance? Notoriety? I watched the video. A couple of times. And all I was left with was a feeling of emptiness. A waste of beauty.

Your Sedoka is anything but a waste. Kudos. And best wishes.

I enjoyed reading this work a great deal. The imagery is fantastic even in this short form. Well done, Mysterious-writer. I don't get it, but I like it..
