I would probably risk the so-called medical science, but I know people who declined treatment, and in those dark ages a decade ago, it seemed to make no difference...blessings on you...excellent post...

Thank you. I would probably try treatment if I ever had cancer but we must let others make their own cchoices.

My heart goes out to you my friend I feel your pain my husband is also dying but if stage four lung cancer. He went through a year of chemo and they stopped it and wanted to put him on the expensive drug but we could afford it so he is on hospice care here at home. waiting and watching for the signs. I am here for you if you want to talk okay.

NO, IT DOESNT GET ANY EASIER BEEN THERE DONE THAT WITH SEVERAL OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS AND IT DOESNT GET IT ANY EASIER KNOWING ANY DAY IT COULD HAPPEN. I LOST MY GRANDMA, BROTHER, AND MOM WITHIN A MONTH OF EACH OTHER DUE TO ILLNESSES AND MY SISTER DIED RIGHT AFTER. I LOST MY BROTHER FROM PARKINSON'S LAST YEAR. I AM THE LAST ONE IN MY FAMILY LEFT.

I am so sorry for your trial. My father died last year of colon cancer. I have to be tested, sadly. It evidently is a genetic disease :( I can totally relate to this battle, except my dad chose chemo. It was brutal ... this was a very raw write, but you penned it with grace and tenderness. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. My husband is in no pain and comfortable with his decision. I don't know how he will feel later but he is content for now.

I don't know if you've had this before, but I have heard it many times: "It always picks on the best of us." I know it's true in my case as I've suffered loss of the most wonderful family members. But the nasty relatives are still going strong, making my life as uncomfortable as possible.
Maybe his choice of keeping off the chemicals is the best one.

Thank you. It does seem to work that way. We have a son-in-law who had screwed everyone who got in his path. (including us) Today he is a wealthy man who got there by stomping everybody. My son died at 16 and never hurt a soul. Go Figure.

I am so, so sorry to learn about your husband's situation. My brother who was sent home to die because the doctors could not do anything more to reverse his cancer. I have an idea of what you are going through. May God bless.

I sympathized with you, I know how it feels because my sister died of cancer after three chemotherapies. She suffered a lot and the family had to endure paying for the three successive chemo in the amount of 1.5 million pesos in a Philippine hospital. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I was sorry to hear about your sister. I suppose chemo does save some lives but the side effects are often terrible as well as expensive.
