This deserves a six, but I'm right out of them at present (*) so there's an extra for good measure. I am interested in the end notes where you say this was in your mind when you woke up. This is a very good time to find inspiration. Or to find it has found you. I often have woken up in the morning (very early 5am) with words sloshing around in my skull, that I am obliged to get written down post haste.They are usually very worthwhile and I'm glad I made the effort. The piece you have posted is very amusing. You have followed all the requirements in that there are no tags or anything other than the dialogue and the story unfolds neatly and quickly to its conclusion. Well done . And to repeat Mr Attwood's words

Very funny. Once the government declares you to be something, very difficult to get them to change it. Loved the dialogue, flows well and with great pace. And I loved Anne's parting shot, about calling within an hour if the dead jokes keep coming. Excellent. Hugh

Thank you. You know, I think what brought this on is a scammer kept calling one day saying my social security number had been terminated. It was obviously a scam so I didn't bother to answer it. The guy even had a foreign accent.
