Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I'm a big Dr. Who fan too and have our family photo op with Peter Capaldi from last year's comic con. My favorite Dr was Matt Smith. David Tennant comes in second. We also had a family photo op with Rose and Captain Jack a few years ago. My granddaughter said Rose smelled like bubblegum.

Congratulations on winning this contest. This is an awesome subject and you handled it like a piece of cake. The smaller poetry forms are tricky to work with, but not for you. Well done!

Sincerely Joy xx

Thank you! My children and grandchildren have attended many Comic-Cons. Most recently they had photos taken with Matt Smith and also Stan Lee - May he Rest In Peace. I wasn?t sure if I would like the new Dr Who, but I actually do! I appreciate your insights and the generous rating. Thanks again!

This is excellent, June. I really like the imaginative approach with the artwork. The use of the word portals is exactly the metaphor for how a book opens up new avenues of thought.

All the best,

Melissa

This is a great entry June. I like this short poem. I can see why it won the competition. I love being able to escape into a book and surface when I am ready. Past, present and future portals - very clever. ~DD

Reading is "all that!" :) I like the nod to the past, present, and future. Jump inside a portal (great word choice) to another world. Nicely formatted poem and a great contest entry. Good luck.

Nice work up for this short and sweet poem and pages of a book can take you anyplace anywhere you want to be in that point in time.

A very well-written 5-7-5 about the joy of reading. Since childhood we were mesmerized by the stories our parents read to us and later read ourselves and it can literally take our minds wherever the book and story take us.

Hello June, I am a fan of Dr Who, I love it. And time travel is a great device in writing fiction. I'm watching 'Outlander' atm, and she travels back in time and meets and marries a Scotsman and they're trying to change the course of history to stop so many deaths, it's a great story.

You say so much with so few words, and pages of a book do allow us to see the past, present, and project/predict the future, and I've often noticed how sci-fi go somewhere and Science and history will often follow. Funny!!

I also love the artwork you have chosen, it captures the concept of time and fantasy, which suits the meaning of the poem.

I noticed no errors. and thanks for sharing this poem which was a pleasure to read and review, cheers, Anastasia :)

Hi

Excellent little 5'7'5 poem. Perfect syllable count across all lines

Pages of a book are like portals to a different past, present and future

Well done

Regards
Ria

Fantasy-tastic image and verse. Consciously or not, you have delightful alliterations with pages, portals, past, and present. Books are often glimpses of past, present, or future historical or fiction/sci-fi situations. Dr. Who would be very proud to transport to you from his phone booth to congratulate you for this effort.
