This work has reached the exceptional level

Autumn is a very sad season but it's my favourite due to the vivid coloured leaves .. I love walking in the woods near by.

The picture you chose is stunning .. I couldn't help but open and read what you wrote in connection to the pic.

My mamma died 12 years ago and it was hard on my papa '..they had been together for 40 years .. Ups and downs of course but lots of lovely memories.

The last paragraph is bittersweet and it made me think of my parents ..my papa ' died last year so now all I have are memories of them , the only family I have ever had.

Your description of the site is delightful :
leaf-STREWN , trees... DEFROCK are new terms for me ; the trunks tall as Titans describes well their mightiness.

I only started writing in June this year ..I was even thinking in rhyme ..crazy.

My ideas are in Italian and then I translate them into English ..I have started reading some poetry in English since June ..I understand I need to enrich my vocabulary if I want to write poetically like you do .

Sorry for the rant but I read you were a teacher ..

I 'm giving your poem a six because it moved me (on more that one level, too)

Ciao!

This is a wonderful poem, Rod. Congratulations on winning the contest. Your acrostic is wistful and beautifully worded. Sometimes it's hard to follow the contests since we don't get notification of posted works until it's over (if it's a blind contest). What is the amazing part of this piece is that the reader is NOT even aware that it's an acrostic. To me, that is talent. Marilyn

Some people will say I've written a sonnet when it resembles one, but it carries that same, slightly sad reflection that a sonnet possesses. Beautifully written Rod, a really good poignancy to this scrodtic poem, it contains the sincerity of sweet sadness, well done, blessings well done, Roy, blessings, Roy

HELLO RODG: I like the way you have executed your work here. No matter how you've constructed this work...it is just fine...because it expresses you. You are unique. That's what makes you different. That's how our God wanted you to be, different...so you are different but good regardless of how one might feel about you and your work. NO. This is not a SHAKESPEARIAN sonnet. As a matter of fact it is a, RODG, sonnet. That's what makes it so special. Thank you for sharing, RODG. God bless you. Cordially: rhonnie69.

A lovely insight of a walker. This poem takes you to his memories , his visions and his past romance. Now all alone he is walking the same path that will always have a hold on his heart. A lovely reminder about precious times - this is simple yet deep.

Hello Writer,
Though not a sonnet is it still a lovely rhymed acrostic poem
with wonderful imagery of autumn and a nice touch of alliteration.
An excellent story within the poem to match the art work
Well done on all counts
Best wishes in the contest
RS
