Thanks for your generous review. Yeah I do believe some reviewers read half the story sometimes. Once someone told me how happy she was for the guy, but if she had read the whole story she would have realized that he actually dies in the end.Oh well, I am glad that you appreciate this little story with the limited scope of 11 syllables. This is a good job on your entry for the ... Air... poetry contest. Even though it is short, this sounds more like a bit of a story... the suspense and tension are evident. It is assumed that the gold is lost forever.... Well done on this one.

Thanks for the insightful review. Can you just imagine the greedy friends of this old prospector hunched over his death bed as they try to make sense of his final ramblings, but no mention of the stash of gold. Who says that you can't take it with you?!. Cheers, j
