Nice use of imagery in each line. The ending echoes the competition of children to be first. As a child I remember the snow and sleds and having to bundle up. Unlike your poem, I preferred staying indoors. LOL

An worthy ABC poem entry, with excellent monorhyme and imagery. Reminiscence of an idyllic winter day.
Good luck in the contest, Annie!

The abc poem, to my bedraggled memory at least, looks true to form. Snows were too scarce here to invest in sleds, but several old model cars had body parts like trunk lids and hoods that sledded well...excellent post.

Your simple rhyme scheme and short lines, with an image described in each line, portrayed vividly a delightful and exciting childhood memory in the snow.

Great rhyming, great imagery. You took me right through the scenery to the gathering of children going sledding. Great entry for this contest, and all the best for you with this entry.,

What a wonderful ABC this is, Annie. The scene reminds me so much of my days as a boy in Watertown New York where snow was as high as an elephant's eye (literally) LOL Good luck in the contest. Bob

I really enjoyed this concise, enthusiastic, descriptive poem about
children having a wonderful time. They don't care how cold it is!
I like the mono-rhyming too.

Oh, this is fun! Young readers should enjoy this poem as it describes the joys of winter playtime so well. I will never be a fan of monorhyming, but it works well in this ABC format. Rod
