This is a great interpretation of the original in a new message, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading your poem. The lines flow smoothly, the message is clear, and the overall effect shows much work. Good job and thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Jan

What a beautiful caring thing you did to free that robin. Was he red? I bet you get blessed for helping this bird, because it, too, is one of God's creatures and it was probably singing a thank you note to you. AWESOME. Read mine now, also. lolol liberty justice

Well done with this reworked masterpiece of that famous Robert Frost's poem "The road not taken". Well imitated and measured, with a great line and a similarly reflective theme. Both ponder "if" and wonder if the door hadn't slid, what then? Beautifully written, good luck, blessings, Roy

Hi Mystery Poet,
I think you did a fine job of rewriting Frost's poem. I wouldn't know where to begin in a contest like this. Then again, I stay away from anonymous contests because the minute I post without my name, reviews seem to be harsh. Maybe regular reviewers are too kind to me and I'm not putting in enough effort when it comes to contest entries? Either that or stage fright makes me write awkwardly???
Ahhh, sorry to stry from the point. This is incredibly well done and brought into modern times of the need to recycle responsibly and think of the animals.
Best wishes in the contest. You get two thumbs up from me.

Hello Joy!
So pleased you enjoyed!
I actually have saved a robin and a sparrow = both in our yard and in precarious positions.
Thank you!

-I like your poem very much,
and Robert Frost is my favorite poet.
-Your poem flows well, has vivid
imagery, and shares this
experience in nature.
-Your opening two lines are
very good, and show the
choice you needed to make.
-Of course, you could not do both!
-I like how you show your emotion
in seeing the plight of this bird.
-I like the conclusion very much:
"I have again sought that place, and I --
I have heard my rescued soul close by.
At last, I have made a difference."
-Good luck in the contest!

What an interesting contest idea and you did such a good job with Frost's well known poem.
It just breaks my heart when I think of all the creatures who suffer because of man's callousness and stupidity. I'm just so glad this had a happy ending. What a great last line - it's so uplifting. Best Wishes, Lou

I know the "Road Not Taken" by heart. Your re-imagined words are a well-written nod to the original. You've kept the concept/rhyming pattern of Frost words, but truly made them your own. Great luck to you in the contest.

This was such a beautiful poem. I really enjoyed reading it so much. I could just could feel the pain the bird was going through the way you told it. Very well written. Thanks for sharing your work.

A very well-written Frost style poem and a remastering of the original written by Frost. The format itself is a big challenge and to rewrite a master piece is an even bigger challenge.

I did not tackle this prompt; it seems so challenging. You have done an
excellent job! I think your poem is as good as Frost's, and I like the message
just as well.
