I did not see this before the contest, but I can see why you did well with it. Fresh, entertaining and imaginative.

Thank you so much Phill for the review (a 6!!!) and your good wishes. Fresh came from the fruit itself... I was choosing a piece to eat and I suddenly imagined them all talking amongst themselves. The mango wasn't there though.

Thanks for your chuckles and good wishes. It is a challenge to be original and when I hit on the puns for a story I felt i was on a fruitful direction.
