Lovely well thought out poem Rachelle and you picked on the one animal along with the crocodile i fear the most, so you are right its better if he loves as no chance if he is not. I can find no snags and good luck in the competition.Kind Regards John

Thank you, John. I finished second, and was happy with that since the entry that one, Gemini, was exceptional. (Read it if you haven't - it won't scare you or anything!) xo

Thank you, Jen. It was such a fun contest prompt! Did you read the one by Boogienights that won? It was entitled "Gemini" and it was hilarious and excellent. I know you'd like it, too.

I appreciate this very nice review. xo
reply by jenintorre on 23-Mar-2019
Yes. It was good but I preferred yours. Congratulations on coming second. X

Great poem! You have done a lovely write about the zodiac signs and personified it with a lion, which is a great idea. I always did think of a lion when I heard Leo!

Thank you, Bichon! It was a fun contest. Did you check out the Gemini one that won? It was adorable, and absolutely deserved first place. xo

Oh well, I guess I am in good stead because I am a Leo...and Virgo...I guess I have a bit of both.
Nicely said, I like the way you start with what could be perceived as negative and a bit bossy, but came back with the balance of strong points.
Strength in both.

Wishing you a great day.

"Leo", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a six, but unfortunately I only have fives left.

Lol! That's okay, duchessofdrur; I'll take a warm and wonderful review like this any day instead of a sixth star. I love this review. xo

    YOU KEEP WRITING!!

Okay, Duchess; I've been called a LOT of things in my life, but 'my possum' has not happened until you. xo

    Rachelle,

There are millions of things worse than being called possum.

    Take care and God bless,

Do like your Leo profile. My father was a Gemini but named Leo! So, your last line is very appropriate to me.

Your description is very expressive in describing your astrological profile, which I know nothing about.

Good luck in your writing prompt entry.

Great poem Rachelle. You can definitely overlook some shortcomings when the positives outweigh the negatives. I sure hope those close to me forgive and overlook mine.

Well done.

Blessings
Janet

I was in love with a Leo once. The problem was, so was he. He's the person about whom I wrote "The Snake." I'm not a big believer in astrology, yet every word you said matches him to the letter. Your short, staccato lines make the poem quick and fun, and I like the playfulness of your rhymes ("dramatic and flashy"/"borderline trashy"). Good luck in the contest, my FSBF.

Oh my! And here you are in a relationship now with another one. I'm more self-effacing than it sounds as if he was, though, so PHEW! You had me worried there for a minute.

I'm glad you liked the poem; I finished second in the contest. Boogienights did an OUTSTANDING job with her entry about Geminis. It absolutely deserved the win.

Thanks for the encouragement, as always FSBF. xo

Relax. My Leo was back in my college and post-college days. His good side was amazing, but the bad side kept me from ever go beyond friendship. I married the man I was meant to be with nearly 24 years ago.

Congratulations on taking 2nd place in the contest! I?ll make a point of reading the winning poem.

My college love sounds a whole lot like yours: the most fascinating man he ever knew.

One of your favorite signs because you ARE one, Diana, or you have loved ones who are? (Inquiring minds want to know!)

Thank you for the nice review. I loved it. xo
