Wow, what a story poem! It flows so smoothly and it held my attention all the way. It has a good plot line leading up to the climax and then to a catching conclusion. That was a good one. You captured all of our imaginations in a situation like that. One outside door flying open in the middle of the night or a bump on the outside wall sends all kinds of images. Good luck.

You have a chance to meet up with all kinds of wildlife when you take a walk in the woods! I remember long ago in France my husband and I walked back to our house in the pitch black of night after eating in a local restaurant. We knew there were wild bore in the area and I was totally petrified, as we neared our house and saw some light an Alsatian dog came bounding toward us! Fortunately he was friendly! Foxes are usually scared of humans. As you can see, I was on your nature trail with you here, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

I'm a little scared of dogs so that might have given me a fright. Yet. I see bears every spring and they don't scare me at all... weird right? Thank you for reading and sharing your story, I'm always glad to hear from you.

A very well-written scary poem with a hilarious ending that brings relief that the author was not attacked by anyone sinister but only a branch hooked to her pants to accompany her on her walk.
