Hi LisaMay :)
I can't understand why people would put themselves through such gruesome procedures to end up looking like caricatures...
I switch off the tv when programmes about plastic surgery come on - makes me feel sick!
Nicely done - good luck in the contest. Best wishes, Debra :)

Hi Debra, thanks for reviewing. I'm with you on the turn-off. Sickening and bizarre.

Thanks for the praise... it was very 'uplifting'... as close as I'll be getting to personal modification.

Funny stuff, LisaMay. It seems vanity knows no bounds anymore. If you aren't born with it, you can buy it, or at least temporarily have it. Good and informative poem.

Luckily I can poke fun at others who think they need it, because I am so utterly drop-dead gorgeous and perfect in every cell. (Maybe that means I should be locked up.)

Oh my, that was a fun little poem. You're last line cracked me up. I wholeheartedly agree about the ridiculousness of cosmetic surgery. Good luck in the contest!

Take care,
Russell

Watch that crack! You may need cosmetic surgery to fix it and who knows what you may end up looking like!
Thanks for your review and good wishes.

HAHAAHAH. You captured this perfectly and gave an outrageously(and well-earned) mocking shout-out to FAAAAR too many of today's fellow earth-dwellers. Bawdy and delightful. Good luck in the contest!

I thought it might get up a few folks rhinoplasty. There is obviously a genuine need sometimes BUT... I so hate the artificial premise of wanting to be someBODY else. Thanks so much for the 6.

    My rhinoplasty and I say "You're welcome." [It's a Jewish Girl rite-of-passage...]

What a funny poem with some internal rhyme and alliteration. The structure of the stanzas kind of remind me of breasts! But maybe that's just me. Or maybe pert noses, after surgery. Interesting choice of structure.

Are you sure that 6 isn't a joke? It's real? It is April Fool's Day after all!
Thanks so much for enjoying my poem to that extent. Interesting that you saw the shape of the lines as body parts. I initially had the poem in centred lines and they started to look very much like a body, but not quite enough. And even though i tweaked the lines it still couldn't satisfy me enough that it looked right, so i didn't centre them... but you still saw some shape to the lines!

Hi Lisa,

Ha ha ha. This is so true. Superficial nonsense to mutilate one's body for the sake of appwarance, in my opinion. And botox...it's literally botulism! Not so smaet, in my opinion. Good luck and thanks for sharing. Jan

Not so smart indeed, it creeps me out that people would willingly inject poison or go under the knife for their looks. Genuine surgery for genuine reasons is quite another matter.

He he he, yep there is a lot of cosmetic surgery about and I am all for it! If you need a new nose, go for it! Plastic is not always fantastic though, you need to know the risks! He he he, a fun poem Lisa, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I thought I might get up someone's nose with it, so to speak. I do realise surgery is very useful and empowering when able to correct nature's unfortunate mistakes.
