LOL! What wonderful memories this lovely story provokes. I remember getting out of the car, slamming the door and telling my husband to drive the damned car himself! LOL. Fun times. I enjoyed reading your story a lot, well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sanda xxx

Hi Contest Author,
Wa ha ha ha! This is a great flash fiction write and a super contest entry. Most of us can relate, from one side of the coin or the other. LOL!
Nothing to suggest revising here.
Thanks for sharing and good luck.

Cute story and I was glad we had four boys cuz it fell to my husband to teach the boys - altho they did take drivers ed in school. I remember learning to drive in one of those huge bathtub shaped hudsons or buicks - can't remember which - but since we had lots of large parking lots, it wasn't too bad.
Very funny and truthful story.
Good story

Oy! Those vehicles ARE huge!! I'm duly impressed, Gail.
Thanks for the fun review.

This is a lovely story that shows how children do grow up to emulate their parents in some ways. There are many things in life that can't be understood between and parent and a child until that child becomes a parent themselves.
Funny and light and full of surprise.
Good Luck

I wanted to give an "exceptional -- six star" rating, but it went only to five. This is so amusing and well written. You should do well in the contest.

Hopefully better than I did as a driving instructor!
Thanks for the encouraging review. I appreciate it very much.

I love the humor in this! My dad was a nervous man usually, but as a driving instructor, he was the calm one. My mother, on the other hand, was usually calm but as a driving instructor she was a wreck. It was constant gasping. You brought back so many memories for me! Best wishes in the contest!

That's an interesting study in personalities, isn't it?! Who could've imagined THAT!
Were you a driving instructor ever, Carla?
Thanks for the fun slice of your life that came compliments of your review. I love it. Thanks, too, for the well-wishes in the contest. I appreciate it very much.

I became a mother later in life. My oldest will start driving in a little over a year. I don't think I'll take after my dad in instructional style, so my plan is to find a good driver's ed school. :-)

Try Raymond Hill; he was exceptional. Although, that was many decades ago, so I'm thinking he'd be OVER THE HILL by now!!!! (or actually, more likely under it!!) hahaahahahha.

This was hilarious! I loved this piece so much. I think we all can identify with this kind of driver's education. I love how the narration was done, it was like hearing a story from an old friend and laughing together over it. Nicely done and good luck in the contest.
