This work has reached the exceptional level

This one-hundred-word flash fiction story, Quand Vous Savez (When You Know), has the correct word count and tells of a perfect scene where hopes meet with proof. A nice moment captured here.

A-w-w-wwwww..., what a sugary sweet little story, Rod.
It's all there--a beginning, a conflict (of sorts), and a definite ending.
All the ingredients that make up a story, regardless of its size.
Well done, a very romantic tale, indeed. Hopefully they lived happily ever after.

Thank you so much, Dean, for praising my short;-short. I would like to think Renoir is a romantic and would approve of my sugary telling of his story. Rod

How sweet. I love the setting and description of the Marie. They made me see her soft and delicate. A woman with love in her eyes and it pouring from her heart.

A nice take on transforming the Renoir painting into a story. The language you use fits the era of the painting, as does the level of formality of the young man who narrates. Very original.

That is a clever creation of romantic flash fiction. Too bad real life is usually not that romantic. I guess you have a vivid imagination. Thanks for sharing this.

What a romantic piece and you've given us a great word-picture in just 100 words. I don't have anything to suggest that would improve it. Good luck in the contest.

This is a delightful story, a very well imagined romance. Gentle. I enjoyed how French it sounded, in response to Renoir's beautiful painting.
You might want to put a full stop at the end.

I am delighted you enjoyed my interpretation of Renoir?s well-known painting. It was fun to sound French, especially when I actually know only six words of the language. I did add that full stop. Thank you.

Bonjour is one of the approx. 6 words I know too!

A very satisfying story to accompany the painting.
Still, I'm left to wonder about the narrator of the story.
I suppose that mystery is yours to hold,
but, in my opinion, it makes the story incomplete.
One man's opinion.

Best of luck.

Peace, Lee

Thank you, Lee, for your comments on WHEN YOU KNOW. I am not sure what about the narrator you are wondering about. He tells us he knew he loved Marie on his 27th birthday. What else do we need to know?
