Yes it's the prologue to the book. I added 12 of my poems to it to get the book started. Kim, I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my work.

I was raised on Mother Goose Nursery RHYMES, Earl--key word there being "Rhymes."
I don't recall my mom ever whipping out or reading from a book titled Mother Goose's Free Verse Poems.
Many try to tell me that rhymed poetry is passe, old-fashioned, antiquated, not chic and out-of-date.
It's past its prime.
I couldn't care less what anyone says. I love to read as well as write rhymed poetry.
That's not to say I can't or don't appreciate a good free verse poem every now and again.
I do.
It's just that, like you, when I think of poetry I think of poetry that rhymes.

Congrats on writing the poetry book, Earl! And like you, I do prefer rhyming poetry but am trying to learn the art of free verse, too. And yes, we have some wonderful poets here and you listed some of my favorites in your notes!

I'm with you. 100%, it has to rhyme to be a poem. When I write poetry it does rhyme, and I'll read rhymed poetry because I enjoy it. I haven't written one for ages, I must start again. I enjoyed yours, it was very entertaining. :)) Sandra xx

If that helps you to discern what you are looking for to be able to rate a work, then have at it. Everyone has their own perspective and should not be criticized for it. I appreciate the prose stories you share. They are always informative, some are funny, but all show a bit of who you are. So, never stop!
