Well done! Just the right story/poem for the contest. One thing (with respect) 'walked many a mile,' only because it keeps the rhythm going throughout the poem. Loneliness is a common occurrence as we age; seems all our family (except grandchildren) have passed over leaving us all alone. Believe me, getting old ain't no fun! Well done friend and best wishes in the contest.

I loved the sentiments here and your rhymes and flow. We often think of old ladies as lonely because they are alone in the world, but often they are survivors and enjoy life and miss company. I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x
