This is delightful. It has humor, pathos, criticism, warmth, irritation, ... all those things that speak of family. Absolutely true: Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

I love the title of your poem. And the poem itself is hilarious. However, what you say is true.
Thanks so much for making me laugh. Good luck in the contest.

HELLO POET: You are clever for appreciating and loving your family no matter what. Your family is a tree. You are only a branch on that tree. Separated from it's tree a branch, "CAN NOT," survive. Yes. You are right. With your family you do belong. Stay connected to your family, poet. It's a matter of life or death for you. God bless you. Cordially: rhonnie69.

This one made me smile friend, because it made me think of my own family and their individual quirks. Yea, the ones that have the capacity to drive you to distraction and tottering on the edge of madness, ha ha.
But then I remember i have my own quirks which they have learned to live with them too. Nice! It is great to get together with family but also great to get on your way and back to your own life, strange that : ))

Ah. This is sweet. A well written poem in five quatrains with a very well done ABXB rhyme scheme and although your lines are mixed syllable count your choice of words makes it flow so smoothly! Aside from all that is the universal truth (in my opinion) that there are times even in the most blissful of families that we wonder if maybe we were adopted -- or wonder if it's too late to be! I smiled...I have as many quirks as my family members which I am sure make them quite mad at times...but we ARE peas in a pod--and in the end--I'm glad I bloomed where I was planted.--Karenina

In my opinion, this was such a clever and fun write about family - in smoothly fluid rhyming rhythm, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I gave it a Six, because I felt I could do no less with this comic tribute to family, that complied perfectly with the prompt. Best of luck in the contest with this gem...

Thank you for this helpful, specific review.

You are very welcome - I since corrected my typo, which was not including the word "no" in the line that should have read as follows:
"I could do NO less with this comic tribute to family"...Eve

I knew that. Not to worry.

Thank you...

I think this applies to a lot of people, but we still turn to family. This is good rhyming here, and an amusing story to boot. Good luck in the contest.
