I really liked your poem. It was humorous and the rhyme and rhythm make it so smooth. butt then doesn't everyone have family members that are a bit off? That makes our family ours!

Absolutely!! No one's family is The Brady Bunch or Ozzie and Harriet! We're ALL "flawed"...but, if you think about that, then it seems that flawed is what's normal!! We should just embrace it.
Thanks for the terrific review, Patricia.

Hi Rachelle, this is a great family poem entry and must stand a good chance as all these things we can relate to in our own families, good luck and thanks for sharing. Kind regards Colin X

Dear Author,
I agree, no phenomenon exists like family. No other people can match your family members' knowing you with the greatest depth. I found your poem articulate and clear. Your title and photograph of a pea pod are excellent!
My best,
Deborah

You've written an excellent poem and entry for the Family contest
with very good rhymes and meter and a nice touch of humor.
Likely sisters one and two would have some jabs about you as well.
After all, that's what sisters do.
Good choice of peas in a pod theme.
Well done
Good luck in the contest
Robert

What?!! How could they POSSIBLY have jabs about me??!! Why, I am CRUSHED at this thought, Robert. Crushed!! : )
Thanks for a delightful review.
-
Well, having a "crush" on someone is usually a good thing,
and Orange Crush tastes good,
so maybe being "crushed" is good as well.
Hope you don't get crushed in that pod or in the contest.
Robert

Even if they're sometimes not what you want, or they get on your nerves, they're all you've got. That's something to cherish because not everyone has that kind of support. You conveyed that message wonderfully!! Best of luck in the contest!!! ::)))
Happy Memorial Day!!

This piece is so well-written and moving. You have made excellent use of specific details--mentioning each family member and at least one trait
of each--to complete the picture.

Comment from Hugh McDowell
Excellent. As my sister says when looking at family pictures "It ain't pretty but it's family". Especially love the first two lines and the play on (k)not connected with the "ties that bind". Nice flow and sequence. Hugh

Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written poem about family members that can sometimes irritate us with their habits and appearances, but we still love them faults and all.
