This is definitely true: in it's profound simplicity it is another way of saying that actions speak louder than words. Love is not chatterbox empty words - the demonstration of loving deeds is more meaningful.

Thank you for the honor. I don't recall my parents saying I love you,
But they proved it every day.

My Dad was the strong silent type; I never heard it from his lips either, but in deeds he was such a giving, caring man. And that is what really matters, just as with your parents. We are a different generation with a different style, so I hope you can say those words to your son directly. I know you are proud of him in poems.

Believe it or not, I still call him baby. He'll be 56 February 23rd.

The photo was taken at my aunt and uncle's farm near Thompsonville, llinois, 1n 1974. Very happy days then. Thank you for the stars amd review. The days of my invincability.

We celebrated our 60th anniversary just before she passed. We met
when she was 13 and I was 14. Never broke up until she passed.
Still in love.

You could easily win with your post just as it is, but if it were me, I would make some changes to the presentation to make it shine. Voters read through the entries so quickly, you want to make a great first impression even before they read the words.
I would make the background gray or goldenrod, center the words, and make the font bigger-maybe 18 or 20. Of course, this has nothing to do with your ability to write. I would just like for you to win, and I even entered the contest. It's definitely good enough to win.
