I think this is a WONDERFUL contest entry, and I can't believe you wrote it in just 20 minutes. You did good! I really love how your titles were bolded.

I grew up reading comic books. They were lightweight, colorful, full of action or entertaining stories. Something I could escape into.

Thank you for bringing back the memories of the comic book era. I truly wish you the very best in the contest!

Nice entry to the contest. You packed a lot into your poem. Interesting that comic books have been regraded into graphic novels. Shows the demand is there from adults as well as kids.

Good luck in the contest!

Blessings Julia

Hello Friend,
Nice piece of poetry having smooth flow with lovely rhyming scheme, and beautifully depicting a flavor of Humor as well as a lesson that if we really want to learn, we can learn from everything / everywhere.
Lucid and matching the theme phraseology.
Picture complements the theme.
Best of Luck!

Well the ones I liked best were Archie and Richie Rich but I gave them up for Saturday morning cartoons like school house rock, the Jacksons,The Osmonds and Scooby Doo until I ditched them all for beach movies with Frankie and Annette and Elvis Presley films. Sometimes I still think "We gotta win this race!" Expertly crafted. Well done! Loved the artwork too!

Firstly a suggestion. In the final verse I think it reads better if you change 'shrimps to wimps.' You sure have nailed in naming your comic titles and characters. I wish you well in the contest.

You have a great library of comic book titles. I hope
that you saved this collection. Should be worth big $$$.
We can learn from these stories about good vs evil.
Seems that these characters should compassion and strength
as they battle. Great poem. flylikeaneagle

Hello mystery writer. I remember when comic books were a nickel. I kept them in a box in my bedroom. There were many things to be learned in comic books. That may sound silly but it's true. In the early days they were very good distinguishing right from wrong and heroes were honored then.

Hello Author
Very good poem, it reminds me when I was a child and how I loved to read comic books. And how right you are of the same way I felt- and still do

Many things I'd yearn,
From only comics I'd learn,
Comics gave me an escape,
My thoughts they'd reshape,

Gert

This is a well-written, interesting and clever write, my friend. I think the meter is fine. Not all poems have to be written in strict meter. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

Excellent, I think most things (well maybe not most) but MOST things we recall or grow with come from comic books, as your wonderful words say, truth, honesty, and fair play, very well written, I love the artwork, best wishes for your contest****kahpot
