I wouldn't think of being anything but kind to someone who so reveres comic books! Green Lantern is my favorite, I confess...and as a 65 year old grandmum that gets me a few funny looks--but hey, they don't know what they're missing! This was a fun and nostalgic read. Good luck!--Karenina

I relate to your poem about comic books and found it most enjoyable. When I was going to a Catholic grade school, there weren't too many issues. However, when the nuns said that we should bring our comic books to school to burn, no way in hell was that going to happen. Best wishes.

Superman had X-ray sight,
Could only be hurt by Kryptonite,
Truth, Justice, and the American Way,
He lived honesty and fair play,
I wish Iran could understand this. Best wishes in the contest.

My favorite Superhero was Batman. Now it's different. My favorite Superheroes are The Avengers. Nice poem you wrote about Superheroes. Well done! I like this poem.

Very well written. I really like the line about Batman sobbing....very funny. As a child I wasn't allowed comics in the house, but for sure I read my share at my friend's house.

This is a good poem showing the positives about reading comic books/graphic novels. They do have some lessons in them.
I have nothing against them. My son reads and collects them.
Good luck in the contest
Keep writing

In my opinion, a fun write, clever in its seeming spontaneous flow, reminiscent of the good time reads of childhood. Personally, I usually read "Classic," comic books, but did enjoy "Wonder Woman" and "Archie" on occasion. Thank you for sharing such warm memories, though I found more nostalgia than humor in your write. Best of luck in the contest...

HELLO POET: This is a good comic book entry. I started reading comic bools in 1952. I was six. Comic books were 10 cents a copy. You covered many of them...and brought back memories. You did a great job here. Thank you for sharing. You are appreciated. God bless you. Cordially: rhonnie69.

I enjoyed reading this poem. I am not familiar with all of the comics but I love Superman with X-ray sight and Batman sobbin on the death of Robin! If you wrote this work in 20 minutes then your muse must have been present.
I was tempted to write about the books of Beatrix Potter but without my muse present it would have been rather forced, unlike the flow of your poem.

I didn't know Robin died! I am sooooo upset now! I've read some of those magazines, but mostly girly ones when I was a child. I'd pinch my brother's though! Lol. This is a really good entry for the contest. It's fun, you've added a quite a few titles, and it was really well written. Good luck! :)) Sandra xxx
