A very well-written heartfelt true story. We cannot predict our lives, we make plans and many times we are redirected when we receive bad news, but when all work out well we can just be grateful.

I am sorry to hear you had to go through this. It is a hard scary thing. My sister also went through it and is cancer free for 13yrs. I have a lot of cancer in my family. You would think I'd be very worried about it, but I don't think about it much at all. I do expect it to happen to me one day, but until then, I won't worry.

I am sorry to hear you had to go through this. It is a hard scary thing. My sister also went through it and is cancer free for 13yrs. I have a lot of cancer in my family. You would think I'd be very worried about it, but I don't think about it much at all. I do expect it to happen to me one day, but until then, I won't worry.

My wife did all of her rehab in our beauty of a retirement home nestled in the trees. Thanks for reading and commenting.

My uncle was diagnosed with cancer last year. He's done great with the chemo and everything. I take him to his chemo every three weeks. It's funny, or not funny, that you mentioned how it's poison. We went in and his port was clogged the one day, so blood wouldn't come out for his labs. They put this stuff in it, they call it drain o, it's not drain o but it literally unclogs it just like drain o does for a sink. We laughed and said what's a little more poison. I guess you have to have a sense of humor about it. I'm so glad your wife made the decision she made and is doing great in being cancer free. It's a battle I hope to never fight.

My wife, Vicki, just got her fourth year results came back clean. She has gone through hell with this breast cancer but now she is a new person with a clean bill of health. Power to the Sisterhood.

Just when life could not get any better, we think of ways that it can. Then inters a horrible twist that makes us question our belief in the all mighty. In spite of the unwelcome crisis, we pick ourselves up and face that monster. Great story, JLR.

I am so very happy for you both, it's a nightmare just having that word said aloud. When the finger is pointed at you, or someone you love, then it becomes a demon. My daughter-in-law is going to have a double mastectomy in December, she has already had a hysterectomy last January. Hers began when she was 28, now at 35 she has been adviced to do this. As a family, we are all supportive. You have to be, and you must be positive in your attitude. Thankfully, your wife didn't listen to her doctor, she listened to her body, and that saved her life. This is a great story, JLR, because it gives others hope that there is life after Cancer. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx
