Interesting poem with lots of information. Lost are those days when strong men explored, showed the way for pioneers and development. Perhaps now there's too much development - here in our Central Oregon region - we're swamped with people. How about some go back east. "No offense"

I have never been to central Oregon, but on my bucket list is following the Oregon Teail from beginning to end. I am delighted you found my ode interesting.

yes, do follow the Oregon Trail - It ends in Oregon City - but there's a marvelous museum in Baker City - plus you can walk down and see the actual wagon tracks that the wagons made.

Davey Crocket is who that picture is to your poem, right? I really like your poem! It's easy and comfortable reading.

Nice choice of illustration. Excellent historical poem. I started to think of Fess Parker and Disney's "Davy Crockett" and the Kit Carson museum in Taos NM that I always wanted to see. Nice rhythm and rhyme. I see iambic tetrameter for the form. Good luck in contest, this is definitely a good historical contender.

Even to this non - american this was a write full of history. A poem that flowed nicely off the tongue and did a good job of keeping my interest. Well done
