Yes a realistic portrayal of the inevitable process of growing old - reflecting on some of the milestones along the way and a very interesting visual to illustrate

Beautiful picture, young and old. Life is a story book and earmarked by how we live the dash in between. I believe our bodies grow old and wither on the vine so to speak, but our hearts live on forever and never grow old, they just have more stories to tell. Well written, an enjoyable read.

This is a special poem, indeed. There is something of genius in your words. You have great transparency and grace in the process of aging--which we all, if lucky, go through in this time on earth.

I like your poem about growing old. I think we all dread getting older as we leave behind our no fear mentality of our youth. Your rhyme scheme is good but if I can just make a suggestion. This line " Soon I will be beneath
The ground; to whom will I my treasures bequeath? " is a bit awkward with the I and My. You might want to consider changing it. All and all a good poem. Good job.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While I loved your picturesque view of comparing the ages, I found the smoothness of the reading difficult. It did not seem to flow easily.

A bit of melancholy and gentle acceptance in this offering... just love your chosen pic ... seems we all consider what was, what we can remember about it and where we're going... Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

Well said. We are all too aware, it seems, of our numbered days, although we may not be aware of the number. May you and your wisdom be remembered and valued, along with your treasures by your chosen recipient(s). Definitely worth the read. Thank you.
