"Always Another Line" is short, succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet has told it as it is. Woven through each line are the golden threads of truth. You KEEP WRITING and I'll KEEP READING. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Some of the best of all art forms are forged from angst! Pain longs for expression. We can put a hammer through a wall...or, as authors we can channel our fury, sorrow, loss, depression, etcetera into (often) some of our best work!--Karenina

Best. Therapy. Ever. :) :) Even if it's just wrestling with rhyme or two, it's a great way to 'burn stress' and more! ;) Thanx for the review, Karenina -- take care and GREAT to hear from you!! ;) Yvette

Of course. Where would we be without sad poetry, or sad songs? Something needs to inspire them. It can be heartbreaking when dreams fall apart, but it does make for great poetry. Good luck in the contest.

Hello Yvette!
I would have to say that "shattered dreams" always "sing songs to the poet's pen!" My students used to ask me why poems and short stories were most often about sadness/pathos. I would share that deep emotion and conflict captivate the reader's attention. Indeed, "Life's fractured refrain."
Beautiful...

captures the reader's attention since it first broke the writer's heart... :) ;) Writing is such therapy sometimes, isn't it?! ;) :) If nothing else, wrestling with the rhymes sometimes is a good workout of frustrations!! ;) Thanx for the review, my Beautiful Michigan Friend! ;) Yvette

Life's "fractured refrain" usually inspires the best poetry. You are right, poetry is balm to a shattered spirit. Writers are blessed in that they can sooth their own souls through words.

Nice and oh so true Yvette, for the intensity of emotions, be they good, bad, scorching hot or freezing cold can illuminate a poets pen like nothing else. This is a very cool offering for the contest friend and I think it has got to be a serious contender : )) Good luck!

Yes! Very well expressed. "Life's fractured refrain" from all those "shattered dreams" often do serve the poet as well as muse. It's what connects our verses to other humans.

I see excellent use of all syllables in this thought-provoking, realistic
piece. There must be a degree of realism in our poems. Writing only of
successes and bliss--well, to me, just falls short.
