This is a well written entry for the etheree contest, my friend. I truly love the last line. If only I could feel that way every day. Best wishes in the contest~Debbie

Thank you.

Great attitude toward the mirror! I like the focus on:
"as gentle laugh lines frame
a bright and still-youthful smile."
That's what people will notice most - the warm and shining smile! Best to you in the contest!

Thank you.

You've said it and I agree - choose the eyes perhaps that shine out life and behind them you can almost see the stories and poems that wait to be written - choose the mouth that can smile at strangers or clerks in the store, perhaps giving an encouragement.
Nice poem

I think this is a good entry for the Etheree Poem contest.
Your story is clear as many of us see too much gray in the mirror these days.
Well done and good luck to you with the contest.

What a delightful poem, but if you don't mind, I have one critique: how come YOU get to get rid of the 'gray' you don't want to see, and I can't? ... Maybe if I painted my mirror...(LOL)
Good luck in the contest. :)

And so it goes as we reflect our images through the years it is the young feeling that fights the truth of the imageBut, as in your well-done poem, we get to think whatever we want. The art was a good choice.

They say life is all about choices. I like how you decide to just focus on the smile and not the gray hairs. Right choice. There are too many gray areas in our lives, so to speak. Let's not go there. Just enjoy the highlighted parts and leave the rest behind.

A very well-written Etheree, the mirror never lies in what we choose to see. If we can see beyond the outer image we will see those qualities in the mirror. A youthful soul never gets old.
