This is beautiful and I like it. You're petitioning God for answers fervently through your heartfelt words. The Bible declares that in this world that we will have trouble, even when we're doing good. Thanks for sharing this inspirational and well written work. Bless you and well done!

I appreciate your letter that is written very sincerely to express your faith in God and dependence on him. I like that you felt free to ask any question that you choose, and trust God that he is in control even when we are suffering. God bless! Bill

Bill, thank you so much for your thoughtful reflection.
Comment from Susan Larson
Lectionary Divina. Centering prayer. How that jumped out at me to remind me that I really need to get back into the practice and to also get back to journaling my conversations with God. As writers, isn't that the way we should be communicating with Him? I was inspired by your honesty and I believe God appreciated it also.

Susan thank you, I know I must check-in daily with God otherwise life just happens and I don't like running in reverse too much...

We are in the autumnal time of our lives, and I fear time is running through the hourglass at a pretty fast rate (great imagery and metaphor here)
There certainly are bumps in the road, or boulders on the path, as we grow ever older. I hope your wife is back home with you soon. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

Debbie, is it not our human nature to think life was supposed to be easy? I can't imagine what it would be like without a heavy dose of prayer and petition mixed into my daily life...scarry thought
Comment from Darlene Franklin
Oh, how I hear you. You don't doubt God, but sometimes we just wish we understood what he's doing better. It doesn't help when his answer is, "I'm God, trust me." Right now I'm in a harvest time, seeing the results of a life's work in two different areas come to fruition. But I know my difficult times are far from over.
All I can offer is the biblical correction between suffering and hope, from Romans 5: suffering leads to perseverance, which leads to character, which leads to hope. May that hope hold you up.

I hope God answers your prayer. I believe in the power of prayer. I have seen many examples of it in my life. Jesus said Seek and ye shall find. Ask and ye shall receive,

Thomas thank you, we both have that deep-heart knowledge which God has implanted on ourSouls that all prayers are answered.
Comment from Raffaelina Lowcock
Your letter to God is rife with curiosity about your best intentions and repentance for your failures in the past. The curiosity also involves the mystery of your future and you know, none of us are privy to that. All-in-all it is a straightforward and intelligent conversation placing your cards upon the table and portraying your belief, your love, and your respect.
