Crocodile Dundee!! Such funny movies. I believe there were two or three of those movies. The words to your poem describe the movie to the T. He's a loveable old bloke from Australia and he doesn't fair well among the confines of New York.
Great poem!
Patty

Wow, Lisa May, you're really good at these movie review poems. You certainly covered all of the basics of the movie (except for the huge knife, of course) in just 17 syllables. Great job. FYI, I knew three people who were extras in the movie.

I got the big knife in at the top, with the secondary heading. That was the most memorable New York moment for me in the film when He shows the bad guy his knife. I also liked getting the boomerang off the back of the car. Fancy knowing some extras - what a coincidence.

Oops, sorry I missed the knife reference. I guess my eyes went straight to the picture of Paul Hogan's muscular arms. (Can you blame me???) That scene with the knife was my favorite in the movie too.

My friends were all acting students at the time. I don't remember which other scenes they were in, but they were definitely in the subway scene at the end.

Oh, you got the movie to rights, and in rhyme too. I see you didn't win, but well done, and thanks for the memories! I'm trying to figure out the difference between haiku and 5-7-5 movie poems. That many more poems to enjoy.

Don't know why they had the same topic twice in quick succession. I won the previous one but this one hasn't been put to voting yet.

A very well-written haiku movie review about Crocodile Dundee, who got the woman of his heart and a crocodile he was searching to catch, to the utter shock of New York, he succeeded.

This is really good. It describes the movie well and rhymes as well. Tough to do in this form. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

Thanks for your review. There's not much room to manoeuvre with in such a short form.

I love this movie review and the picture lives up to the words. It is an excellent contest entry and I hope you do well. As a New Yorker, I especially like the last line.

I wonder if you have ever seen the movie? It is very entertaining. The New York part is a hoot, with a bushwhacker not used to being in a city.

I like this a lot. It is a great contest entry and you will do very well in the voting booth. The Crocodile Dundee movies were great. I rewatched the first in the series a few days ago. It held up well.

It was a hoot of a movie but I think some people still think they can wrestle crocodiles because of it.
