It is pretty sad people think more of what people wear to church than praying to God for the blessings they have in their own life. Proud of he for showing up those darn snobs!

I enjoyed your story, Mike. It is heart-felt and exemplifies the true meaning of Christmas. You did a great job telling how the dress went from the store window to church service on Christmas. My thought (not in any way a criticism) is what you have the pastor speaking. Rather than saying what he did, I would believe he would compliment the dress and say something that would let the women who secretly, sorta, made fun of mama. I don't believe he would comment as you wrote. However, I know it is your story. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

It's a cute little story, but only conveys a little sentiment. It doesn't give the reader a lot of knowledge about the buyer of the dress or his mother. I would like to know more about the buyer:more of his family situation, where is his father? does he have any siblings? any other relatives? what kind of work does mom do? how long have they attended this church? specifically, what type of church is it? And I'd like to know something, a little more, about these people who are laughing at mo. It might help to dislike them more, or maybe not.

This is beautiful brother. Mama is so consumed with taking care of her children that she doesn't do anything for herself. How precious is it that the lad had been watching his mother's labor of love. He didn't just talk about it or just look at the situation. No, he had works to go with his faith. It was alive faith, and he acted on it. I love this feel good, inspirational, and well written work.
